In the summer you can see rice as far as the eye can see in the Cagayan Valley.  It must surely be the Cagayan Valley’s number one exported crop.

The rice grows very well in the northern Philippines thanks to all the ample rainfall!

delicious pork adobo

In the Philippines I tried the chicken adobo as well as the pork adobo. I love them both as they are equally yummy. I recommend mixing it with rice and vegetables!

Here is a recipe:

eating with two spoons

eating with two spoons

In the Philippines rice is served with every meal, so a spoon is always a necessity. I learned the art of eating with two spoons! One spoon is used to hold the rice and the second spoon is used to PUSH the rice onto the first spoon. Here in the states a piece of bread is often used to PUSH food onto a spoon or fork. I suppose many other methods could be used to accomplish the same task, but this method works BEST for me!
