correct pronounciation for selected California cities and streets

The pronunciations listed here are used by the mass media as well as in everyday conversation.  It is not meant to MOCK the Spanish language…or in any way belittle people who can speak Spanish with the correct pronunciations. In my case, having grown up on the Central California Coast I learned how to pronounce the Spanish words the way that I heard them spoken on radio and TV, and by my friends at school. I did not learn how to speak Spanish words with the correct pronunciation until I moved to TEXAS many years later.
