LUTHER VANDROSS LYRICS – Impossible Dream//

                                                                                                           “Impossible Dream”
To dream the impossible dream
To fight the unbeatable foe
To bear with unbearable sorrow
And to run where
the brave dare not go
To right the unrightable wrong
And to love pure and chaste from afar
To try when your arms are too weary
To reach the unreachable star
This is my quest
To follow that star
No matter how hopeless
No matter how far
To fight for the right
Without question or pause
To be willing to march,
march into hell
For that heavenly cause
And I know
If I’ll only be true
To this glorious quest
That my heart
Will lie peaceful and calm
When I’m laid to my rest
And the world will be
better for this
That one man, scorned
and covered with scars,
Still strove with his last
ounce of courage
To reach the unreachable,
the unreachable,
The unreachable star
And I’ll always dream
The impossible dream
Yes, and I’ll reach
The unreachable star
To Dream the Impossible Dream-

Vandross suffered from diabetes and hypertension, both of which may have been brought on by family genetics as well as lifestyle and nutrition.

Vandross died on July 1, 2005 at JFK Medical Center in Edison, New Jersey at the age of 54. His apparent cause of death was a heart attack.

After two days of viewing at the Frank E. Campbell Funeral Chapel, his funeral was held at Riverside Church in New York City on July 8, 2005. Vandross is interred at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus, New Jersey.

Vandross never married, had no children, and his three older siblings died before him. He was survived by his mother, Mary Ida, who died in 2008. Vandross’ estate left an undisclosed major gift to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

music that has no boundaries

some music can transcend space and time.  It can seem as current today as 30-40 years after it was first released

Now That We’ve Found Love – Third World (1978)

This reggae  song seems just as relevant today as 36 years ago!

Gil Scott-Heron – Johannesburg (1974)

doesn’t seem possible that it was released 40 years ago!

The late great Bob Marley released  The Sun is Shining in 1974,  seems just as recent today as 40 years ago

Isaac Hayes – I Never Can Say Goodbye

a great SLOW JAM from 1972!
